About this course
Stroke survivors often experience profound psychological and emotional challenges, including post-stroke depression, anxiety, and involuntary emotional expressive disorder (IEED), which can significantly hinder recovery and quality of life. These complex psychological sequelae require targeted assessment and evidence-based interventions that address both neurological and emotional dimensions. Mental health professionals play a crucial role in facilitating patients’ psychological adjustment, enhancing coping strategies, and supporting caregivers. This training equips practitioners with the knowledge and tools necessary to differentiate between neurological and emotional symptoms, apply theory- and evidence-based techniques for emotional regulation, and integrate these strategies into multidisciplinary care plans. By enhancing competency in this area, professionals can improve outcomes for stroke survivors, reduce caregiver burden, and contribute to a holistic recovery process.
